Shakara Wright

Shakara Wright is a founding member of Alumni Theater   Company and excited to a part of the Artist Collective.   Shakara is an actress, poet, and a playwright. She is currently   a 21 year old junior Acting major at Point Park University. Her   love for theater started in the second grade when she was a part of Urban League's production of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. She continued being a part of the Urban League productions until she graduated and entered Rogers and then CAPA 6-12 for musical theatre. She won second place in the August Wilson Monologue competition in 2012. Some of her favorite roles include Aunt March in Little Women, a core dancer in In The Heights, and Anne/GoToHellKitty in Chicago. Shakara wrote and performed her first play, The Black Ties with ATC her 8th grade year. She wrote another play, Affection, that was performed in the 2014 ATC Senior Showcase. Shakara plans on continuing her artistic education with Point Park and the Artist Collective. She wants to write, perform and direct her own plays.
